good rest and facial care
2005-08-10 / 9:25 a.m.
i've had a lot more rest since my last entry. i have the next few days off from work, i have to use my county holidays before the end of the year--and i have 9 of them! so, i'm using a few so vinnie and i can go to brown county, IN and get away for a couple of nights. the place has a HOT TUB. i'm so excited i could shit.so, the art opening is this friday. i think the show looks pretty good. the anthology is coming out next month too, via AuthorHouse Books-(you can check them out online). the book is called "A Fine Wine Mortar: a Matrix Anthology). it has a few poems and some illustrations of mine in it and you can buy copies for $10. in addition to my work, you can also sample some of the fabulous writing of other hoosiers. yes, indiana is more than corn and IU.
i can't remember if i've entered this or not, but i've been dabbling in home made facial care products, and they really work. just for you my special readers--here is my recipe for an awesome oatmeal masque. it's especially helpful if you have mega oily skin.
IN YOUR FACE (TM) oatmeal masque
1/2 c oatmeal uncooked
1/2 t dried parsley
1/2 t of dried marsh mallow root (optional)
citrus juice (lemon, grapefruit, orange, or lime)
water
mix all three (or four if you have marsh mallow root) ingredients in a coffee bean grinder. this will make a nice fine powder of it all. add some water and any kind of citrus juice until you get a thick paste. smear it on your face and store excess in refrigerator-(i like using a baby food jar). will keep for 3 weeks. don't use more than 2x per week.
